UPDATE: The City of El Monte Business Grant Update #3
Greetings El Monte Business Owners:
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation during this difficult time.
The latest update as of July 13, 2020 is the following:
City staff has been successful in issuing $360,000 in assistance to our business community with additional $100,000 approved (pending signed grant agreements).
In total the program has filled 46/55 available slots. The remaining 9 slots have been reserved, pending receipt and verification of their supporting documents. If any of the 9 remaining applicants are found to be ineligible or unresponsive to City requests, Staff will be contacting the next applicants in the queue.
As of 12:00pm today, the City has received 850 business grant applications. If you have applied and received a confirmation email, your application has been assigned a priority number and filed in the order it was received. The attached spreadsheet is the current status for submitted applications and will be updated once more at the completion of the program.
The City of El Monte is currently exploring different avenues to replenish and expand the Employer Assistance Grant Fund with potential Federal and State funding. The City would like to strongly encourage all applicants to call and email their State Assembly and Congressional Representatives to request more funding for Local Governments to fund these desperately needed programs.
If you are still in need of information on available Federal, State, and County assistance programs please visit the Business Resource Center webpage. The BRC is periodically updated whenever information becomes available.
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation.
Be well, and best of luck
Alma K. Martinez, City Manager
For Grant Applicants:
How can I make sure my application is processed fairly and in the order it was received?
All grant applicants received an email confirmation upon submission of their application. That email contains a recap of your application answers plus a “Submission Timestamp.” Your “Submission Timestamp” is your place in line on which applications get reviewed.
What if I lost or can’t find my “Submission Timestamp”?
You can contact the El Monte Business Resource Center at (626) 258-8670 or ElMonteBusinesses@ElMonteCA.Gov or Virtual City Hall at https://monte.campaignrep.org/page/business-and-employment-resource-center during regular business hours. Provide us with your name, email and business name and we will email you a copy of your email confirmation submission.
